"In 1988 my husband and I decided to sell our home in Saratoga and move to Sonora. As Kathy Stovall was a good friend from our Church and a real estate agent, we decided to contact her for assistance. To start with, she visited our home and made a few suggestions as to things we could do to get the best possible price for our place. She recommended we paint the outside, make some changes to a room we used as a bar/family room, remove some furniture from our living room and make it look more like a model home. We actually put two coats of paint on the outside, because our first choice of color simply did not look right. When it came to the changes she requested in our extra room, I did not want to do that until Kathy reminded me that this was no longer going to me my home, that I already had a new one in Sonora which was dependent on the sale of the Saratoga house, and that she was the pro in this business and knew it was for the best. The next thing I knew, I was on a ladder with a crowbar removing tiles from the walls, taking the sink and bar out, etc. We rented furniture for our living room which caused my son to think he was in the wrong house when he visited one day. To make a long story short, Kathy certainly knew what she was doing. It may have cost us a little, but when we finally put it on the market, it made a big change. In March, we were told the house was valued at about $300,000 but Kathy said it was not time yet. Early in April she said it was time for an open-house. This was done over a weekend and we had two (2) offers, both of which were more than the $400,000+ we were asking. Every thing went very smoothly, thanks to Kathy, and we were able to get into our new home in Sonora right on schedule.
